PRAIRIE SOIL CONSULTING, LLC

Prairie Soil Consulting, LLC is a soil mapping and consulting company formed in 2006 by C.J. Heidt and Mike Ulmer, Professional Soil Classifiers registered in North Dakota. We specialize in high-intensity soil surveys, wetland and hydric soil determination, sedimentation studies, ordinary high water mark determinations, and septic field site evaluations.

We work independently -- or as part of an interdisciplinary team. We have access to other specialists as project needs require (e.g. additional Registered Professional Soil Classifiers, Engineers, Biologists, Botanists, GIS and GPS Specialists) and have provided timely soil expertise to many other consulting firms and specialists.

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT?

Here are a few examples...

Large Endowment Approach

We are Professional Soil Classifiers registered in the State of North Dakota.  We are Certified Professional Soil Scientists/Soil Classifiers by ARCPACS (the Federation of Certifying Boards in Agriculture, Biology, Earth and Environmental Sciences).  We are Certified Professional Wetland Scientists by the Society of Wetland Scientists.

Experience & Expertise

Our work is based on an understanding of soil-landscape relationships. We have expertise in soil properties, soil interpretations, soil investigations, and soil-vegetation correlations for septic field suitability evaluations, wetlands, mined land and landfill reclamation, and other siting and environmental concerns.

Proven Results

Our goal is to provide soil and environmental expertise -- in a time frame that meets your needs.

Proven Results

We have the equipment necessary to do the job, including a hydraulic Giddings soil boring machine (capable of sampling to 12 feet), a small tractor-mounted backhoe, all-terrain vehicles, and appropriate hand augers and sampling equipment.
